PhD student wins Best Extended Abstract award at AIRSI Metaverse Conference 2025

Our very own PhD candidate Timothy Whiley proudly represented the ARVR Hub at the 2025 AIRSI Metaverse Conference, an international gathering of scholars exploring cutting-edge Industry 4.0 technologies such as AI, virtual and augmented reality, blockchain, NFTs, and metaverse-based systems.

The 2025 AIRSI Metaverse Conference brought together international scholars to explore the applications and impacts of Industry 4.0 technologies, including AI, virtual and augmented reality, blockchain, NFTs, and metaverse-based systems. During the conference, a paper titled Exploring the Intersection between eSports and Metaverse Business Models was presented, examining how metaverse-enabled infrastructures are reshaping value creation and monetisation within the eSports ecosystem. The paper was awarded Best Extended Abstract, recognising its contribution to ongoing conversations around digital innovation and emerging metaverse-driven business models.
